Friday December 19th is the last day to register the dolls that will take part in the traditional New Year’s Eve burning, one of the most emblematic celebrations in La Plata.
The municipality reported that in order to register, interested parties must fill out the relevant form with the responsible person’s ID, a sketch of the Momo, a desired name, the location of the structure, a contact email address and other information.
On December 22nd at 12 noon, a training session for those responsible will take place in the municipal operations center (COM) under the premise of ensuring safety conditions.
The structures must not exceed a height of six meters, a width of three meters and a length of three meters, and the installation site must ensure a safety radius of three times the height of the Momo.
It is also prohibited to place it in dangerous places, such as under cables or trees, near gas outlets or gas stations, or on land with pipes carrying flammable liquids.
In accordance with current regulations and with the aim of meeting the established prevention standards, the burning requires authorization from the Secretariat of Municipal Control and Coexistence.
This authorization will be granted on Tuesday December 30th, once the relevant controls have been carried out by the municipality.
In addition, the organizers must ensure the subsequent cleaning of the public space used on Thursday, January 1, 2026, between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
