Last minute Storm Emilia | AEMET activates heavy rain warning in 5 autonomous communities and forces road cuts in Murcia

Update

1. Between 60 and 80 liters per square meter
   

   In the rest of the two Mediterranean communities, more than 20 liters per square meter will accumulate well within an hour. Accumulated quantities can exceed between 60 and 80 liters per square meter in twelve hours.

2. Heavy rains in the Mediterranean
   

   This Tuesday, it will rain heavily again in parts of the Mediterranean. More than 30 liters per square meter will be collected in one hour on the south and pre-coastal south coast of Tarragona (Catalonia) as well as on the coast of Castellón (Valencian Community).

3. 5 meter waves in the Canary Islands
   

   On the other hand, the Canary Islands will activate the alert for coastal phenomena this afternoon on the islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, taking into account the forecast of waves of between 4 and 5 meters.

4. Rain and hail in Galicia
   

   Galicia, in addition to rain, with the possibility of small hail in A Coruña and A Mariña (Lugo), is on yellow alert due to maritime storms. In A Coruña and Pontevedra, waves of up to 5 meters are expected.

5. Cloudy skies and drop in maximums
   

   This Tuesday, an Atlantic front combined with a low pressure system in the southeast of the peninsula will leave cloudy skies with drops in maximum temperatures and widespread precipitation in the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, which will be strong on the eastern facade of the peninsula, on the Cantabrian Sea and in the areas of the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean.

6. Five communities on alert
