With more than 30 police arrests, lawyer João Paulo Leandro Mendes Mendonça Carrera, aged 34, was arrested again last Sunday (28/12) after discovering a charred body in a rural area of Sol Nascente. He is suspected of killing an unidentified man and committing an alleged satanic ritual, which is still under investigation by the Federal District Civil Police (PCDF).
According to the 19th (Ceilândia) police station, the lawyer’s criminal history attracts attention. Just this year, he was arrested for involvement in macabre rituals at the Taguatinga cemetery. In August, police records show, the suspect opened graves and placed items inside the graves. In September, he was arrested again for carrying a bladed weapon and simulacrum. Last year, he responded to threats, among other incidents noted in his history.

The body found Sunday morning is believed to be that of an unidentified man. The area was isolated for forensic work aimed at clarifying the circumstances of the death and confirming the identity of the victim.

The first information collected by investigators indicates that the motivation for the crime could be linked to an alleged satanic ritual, a hypothesis which is still being analyzed and has not been officially confirmed.
According to preliminary reports collected by the PCDF, the lawyer suffers from schizophrenia, information that must be assessed through examinations and technical reports.
João Paulo Leandro Mendes Mendonça Carrera was taken to the police station, where he will have to make a statement. The civil police emphasize that the case is still under investigation and that new information will be released as the investigation progresses.
