Madrid, December 12 (EFECOM). – Leire Iglesias, previously general director of the public real estate company Sepes, has left that position and been appointed president of the newly named Casa 47, the new public housing company created by the government.
As published this Friday in the Official Gazette of the State (BOE), this appointment was made following the proposal of the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Isabel Rodríguez, and after consultation by the Council of Ministers.
The new company, officially presented last Thursday, emerged from the transformation of Sepes and begins to function as a state housing company, carrying out the urbanization, construction and management of the state public housing stock.
The leases signed by Casa 47 can last up to 75 years, with continuous renewals as long as most of the conditions for access to housing are respected (a first phase with a 14-year contract and a second with automatic 7-year extensions).
The price is set based on affordability criteria and is capped per autonomous community so that no rent can exceed 30% of the average income of the territory.
An online portal will be launched in 2026 where you can view available offers and requirements and formalize housing applications.
The portfolio of this new company will be enriched by its own construction and the inclusion of houses and state properties from other ministries such as Finance, Defense or Interior; or Sareb, which will transfer 40,000 houses and 2,400 plots of land and provide space for an additional 55,000 houses.
Before Christmas, Casa 47 will launch a pilot tender for 171 affordable rental apartments in Vigo, the Dana-affected area of Valencia and Mieres (Asturias).
The Housing Minister has already announced that Casa 47 will soon publish a purchase offer for 100 million euros to increase the public housing stock in Spain. EFECOM
