Cruzeiro started behind in the semi-final of the Copa do Brasil. The 1 x 0 defeat against Corinthians this Wednesday (10/12) in Mineirão left Raposa in a delicate situation for the return match, but did not shake the confidence of coach Léo Jardim.

Cruzeiro x Corinthians: where to watch the Copa do Brasil semi-final
Memphis Depay’s goal secured Timão’s victory in Belo Horizonte and increased the pressure on the celestial team, who will now have to win away from home to challenge for a place in the final. The match will take place on Sunday (14/12), at 6 p.m.
“We weren’t good at the start”
After the match, Léo Jardim admitted that Cruzeiro started badly and had difficulties, notably until conceding the goal.
“Until the Corinthians goal, we weren’t good. We lacked aggressiveness in carrying the ball, we missed a lot of passes. Then, we progressed little by little and in the second half we grew a lot. We lacked a little efficiency, technical gesture, in passing and in finishing,” he said.
The coach also criticized the dynamics of the match, citing constant stoppages.
“The match was very slow. The opponent stopped the game, took one touch too many and fell to the ground. We played less than a half. The referee also has his say,” he said.

Semi-final not an ‘easy match,’ says coach
Léo Jardim refuted the idea that the semi-final would be simple, reinforcing the weight of the jerseys entered.
“I had already warned him: the cup semi-finals, with two teams wearing heavy jerseys, there are no easy matches. And that was clear,” he declared.
Cruzeiro will have to decide the away classification, but Léo Jardim was keen to recall the team’s strong performance as visitors throughout the year.
“We have had important away victories. We won at Fluminense, at Botafogo, we drew with Palmeiras and Flamengo. This team has already shown that it can win on any pitch,” he said.
The coach believes that the opponent will also have difficulties in the return match and that Cruzeiro has real conditions to overturn the score.
“We are going to disturb the opponent. They will not be able to attack like crazy. We will have to take responsibility for the match again, but I have full confidence. We are losing 1 x 0, but we want to turn things around and play a match against Cruzeiro,” he revealed.
