The Argentine entertainment world mourns the death of Ernesto Raúl Acher Abulafia, one of the pioneers of Les Luthiers
As the Argentine news agency learned, Acher, born on October 9, 1939 in Buenos Aires, developed a passion for music at an early age, learned the piano and clarinet and has been interested in jazz since his youth. Although he completed his architecture studies at the UBA in 1965 (where he also worked as a teacher), his calling took him to the stage.
Fifteen years at Les Luthiers
He joined Les Luthiers in April 1971. At first he replaced Marcos Mundstock in reading lyrics, but after his return he established himself as a full member and as a composer.
Within the group that revolutionized musical humor, Acher was fundamental. He was distinguished by:
Instrumental Skills: In addition to his talent as a pianist, he was the group’s primary wind instrumentalist.
Compositions: His most famous works include “La Cantata del Avanzado Don Rodrigo Díaz de Carreras” and “La gallina said Eureka”.
Characters: He brought to life iconic characters such as “Jester Copoletto,” “Captain of the Brig,” and “Carlitos II.”
Acher said goodbye to Les Luthiers on September 27, 1986 after 15 years of experience. His last show was the show “Humor dulce corazón”.__IP__
Creator of the elastic band
Two years after his departure, Acher founded the music group La Banda Elástica. This jazz formation was characterized by a bold fusion of various genres, including folklore, tango and rock, while always maintaining a humorous tone.
With this project, Acher premiered four shows and recorded three albums, expanding his musical and comedic influence beyond the group that made him famous.
