If there is still room on their wish list for the Three Kings, music lovers can still add some of the meetings with great artists offered by Nuits Botaniques this Thursday. And the Madrid festival comes … announce the first 16 concerts of the edition which celebrates its tenth anniversary, which will take place between June and July 2026 at Royal Alfonso XIII Botanical Garden from the Complutense University of Madrid.
“This preview once again reaffirms the artistic essence of the event in a key year of its history: eclecticism, diversity and experiences designed for the pleasure of the public and the artists,” says the announcement of the festival, which presents a route that connects generations and styles.
Among the most notable international names is that of the ambassador of 80s nostalgia. Rick Astleyknown worldwide for his 1987 super hit ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ and who released a new album two years ago called ‘Are We There Yet?.
The pulse of rock will also resonate in two of its most powerful aspects. On the one hand, there will be the classic essence of Top ZZthe power trio formed in 1969 in Houston (Texas) by Billy Gibbons on guitar and vocals, Frank Beard on drums and Dusty Hill on bass, keyboards and vocals, who will arrive with their new member Elwood Francis after Hill’s death in 2021. And on the other hand, there will be the alternative rockers Biffy Clyroa Scottish group with international success who will arrive in Madrid with a new album to their credit, “Futique”.
There will also be Danny Elfman, one of the great cult figures in the field of soundtracks
All this without leaving aside the contemporary sensitivity of Ethel Cain and the strength of blues rock Alabama Shakesuntil leading to the live elegance of the now legendary jazz-woman Diana Krall and experimental electronics Jean-Michel Jarreone of the great icons of his genre as well as commander of the Legion of Honor and UNESCO ambassador for education, science and culture.
From experimentation, the musical journey extends towards the warmth and intimacy of Silvana Estrada and Mari Froes and the luminous energy of the French artist’s modern song Zaz. It will also highlight the presence of cult figures in the field of soundtracks such as Danny Elfman (“Doctor Strange”, “Doolitle”, “Dumbo” or “The Grinch”), as well as the festive energy of Two Door Cinema Club And Belle and Sebastian.
As it could not be otherwise, national talents once again play a leading role in this first advertisement, with female references like Rigoberta Bandini, Lia Kali or Ginsin addition to essential groups of the independent scene like Lesbian lovethus completing a preview faithful to the artistic philosophy that the festival has defended since its first edition.
