Lily Collins imagined what her perfect bag would look like. And this work gave birth to a tailor-made Cartier C model, created especially for the Anglo-American actress. The creation was developed by the Creation Studio of House in the heart of Paris, following a conversation between Lily Collins and Marlin Yuson, creative director of Cartier’s leather goods collections.
Lily Collins’ personal requests were incorporated into an east-west shaped bag from the C de Cartier collection, with Cartier’s double C infinity emblem embroidered tone-on-tone in brown and the actress’ initials hot-stamped in gold. The double C logo, an emblematic symbol of Cartier since 1921, is presented in an all-over embroidery made with a high-performance thread, traditionally used in saddlery, for very durable resistance, while the Cartier C clasp is the result of a collaboration between leather goods and jewelry workshops.

The special version chosen by Lily features a finish gadroonsan aesthetic code much appreciated by House. “Entering the Cartier Creation Studio was a magical experience, and I feel honored to have been invited to witness the creation of this bespoke piece. Following the project from my first conversation with Marlin to holding the final piece in my hands has been nothing short of incredible. I can feel the work of the designers and artisans, from the exquisite fabric to the beautiful C-clasp. And how special that my own initials reflect those of Louis Cartier! I am thrilled to see these little LCs in gold,” explained Lily Collins, about this experience.

“This silhouette east-west from the C de Cartier collection was designed as a practical and gender-fluid everyday accessory. The shape and volume have been reduced to accentuate its purity and lines, while remaining functional and pleasant to wear. For Lily, we wanted to create something really special, and I think we achieved that with this tone-on-tone embroidered design,” concludes Marlin Yuson, creative director of leather goods.
