Liniker: “I don’t just want to live the protocol of a pop star”

Liniker is at the top of the Brazilian music scene, with three wins at the 2025 Latin Grammys and the success of the album “Caju”, which surpassed the 160 million stream mark. However, the São Paulo artist says that with this reach and light comes a big challenge: to protect humanity and not give in to “pop star protocol”.

The singer reflects on the profession she has chosen and, as a result, has prioritized “living” and “enjoying” the cities she visits, rather than limiting herself to contractual commitments.

In an interview for the podcast “Segue o Som”, presented by Pietro Reis, she uses the metaphor of documents to describe this dichotomy, mentioning that the relationship with Rio de Janeiro was completely professional, just for the “show note” and the “CNPJ”.

However, last year she started visiting the city more to “CPF also to enjoy” and to be with friends.

This choice is fundamental for artistic creation. Liniker is an “everyday composer,” and being protected would prevent her from being inspired.

“I only write because I live a lot,” explains the artist. If she doesn’t live or have a point of view about simple things, like “someone who lives” or “the light to cross the street”, the song will have no meaning.

To cope with anxiety and panic, she needs boundaries. Liniker affirms that the limit has been an axis of construction in life, helped by years of therapy, in order not to let the personal life be “thinned” by the career.

The artist, who wishes to have “career longevity” and to be an “old singer”, knows that this “conscious past” is essential so that she is not disposable and that she can continue to build the different phases.

The decision to live fully is the foundation for art to continue to be a “sound of sum” and power.
