Remember Diogo Jota’s time at Liverpool and Wolverhampton
Diogo Jota played for Wolverhampton between 2017 and 2020. During this period, he made 131 appearances, scoring 44 goals and dishing out 15 assists, winning the English Second Division in the 2017-18 season. After this cycle, the player moved to Liverpool, where he played 182 matches, with 65 goals and 22 assists.
With Liverpool, the striker won the Premier League (2024-25), as well as the FA Cup (2021-22) and the English League Cup, this time twice (2021-22 and 2023-24). The club retired the number 20 jersey, worn by the Portuguese, in all categories as a tribute. During matches played at Anfield, supporters organize demonstrations from the 20th minute onwards.
The accident occurred in Zamora, Spain, during a car trip to Santander. Diogo Jota would return to England to join Liverpool for pre-season, following medical advice to avoid flights. While overtaking, a tire on the vehicle burst, causing a loss of control.
