Madrid, December 13 (EFE). – The Forqué Awards open this Saturday the awards season for the best Spanish audiovisual productions of 2025 with “Sorda” as the most nominated film – it competes with “Los Domingos”, “Maspalomas” and “Sirat” – and the series “Poquita Fe T2” with more options than candidates such as “Anatomía de un momento”, “Pubertat” and “Animal”.
This is the 31st edition of the awards organized by Egeda, a non-profit organization dedicated to the management of the rights of audiovisual producers, chaired by Enrique Cerezo. The producer will present a gold medal to producer Emma Lustres, who founded Vaca Films (“Hasta el cielo” or “Celda 211”) together with Borja Pena.
The gala, which will be broadcast live on TVE’s La 2, will feature presenters Cayetana Guillén Cuervo and Daniel Guzmán, as well as performances by Amaral, Chanel, Chloé Bird, Jeannete, Mafalda Cardenal, Marwán, Nil Moliner, Ruth Lorenzo and Shaila Dúrcal, who will pay tribute to the songs that have been part of Spanish cinema.
In this first thermometer of Spanish cinema of the year, after “Sorda” (Eva Libertad), which has four nominations, “Los Domingos” (Alauda Ruiz de Azúa) and “Maspalomas” (José María Goenaga and Aitor Arregi) have three nominations. Together with “Sirat” by Óliver Laxe, they are all candidates for the best feature film.
Ángela Cervantes (“La Furia”), Miriam Garlo (“Sorda”), Nora Navas (“My Friend Eva”) and Patricia López Arnaiz (“Los Domingos”) are the nominees for Best Female Performance; For men, the finalists are Alberto San Juan (“La cena”), Álvaro Cervantes (“Sorda”), José Ramón Soroiz (“Maspalomas”) and Mario Casas (“Very Far”).
In the best documentary category: “We are all Gaza” (Hernán Zin), “Eloy de la Iglesia. “Addicted to Cinema” (Gaizka Urresti), “Flowers for Antonio” (Isaki Lacuesta and Elena Molina) and “Afternoons of Solitude” (Albert Serra).
“Belén” (Dolores Fonzi), “The Mysterious Gaze of Flamenco” (Diego Céspedes), “La Ola” (Sebastián Lelio) and “Papeles” (Arturo Montenegro) are up for the best Latin American film of the year.
In the “Best Animated Feature Film” category are “Bella” (Manuel H. Martín and Amparo Martínez Barco), “Decorado” (Alberto Vázquez), “El Tesoro de Barracuda” (Adrián García) and “La luz de Aisha” (Shadi Adib).
The award for best short film goes to “Ángulo muerte” (Cristian Beteta), “The Tale of a Midsummer Night” (María Herrera) and “A Head on the Wall” (Manuel Manrique).
The award for the best fiction series will be given to “Anatomía de un momento” (Rafael Cobos, Fran Araújo and Alberto Rodríguez), “Animal” (Víctor García León), “Poquita Fe T2” (Pepón Montero and Juan Maidagán) and “Pubertat” (Leticia Dolera).
The nominees for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Series are: Candela Peña (“Furia”), Carolina Yuste (“The Song”), Esperanza Pedreño (“Poquita Fe T2”) and Ingrid García-Jonsson (“Superestar”).
Meanwhile, competing in the actor category are Álvaro Morte (“Anatomy of an Instant”), Javier Cámara (“Jakarta”), Luis Zahera (“Animal”) and Raúl Cimas (“Poquita Fe T2”).
The ceremony, which will take place at Ifema, will feature participants from nominated productions such as Alba Flores, Alberto San Juan, Álvaro Cervantes, Álvaro Morte, Ángela Cervantes, Candela Peña, Christian Checa, Eva Llorach, Hugo Welzel, Ingrid García-Jonsson, Javier Cámara, José Ramón Soroiz, Julieta Cardinali, María Jesús Hoyos, Miriam Garlo, Nora Navas, Olivia Delcán and Patricia López Arnaiz.
Other artists such as Ana Rujas, Antonia San Juan, Bárbara Lennie, Belén Cuesta, Canco Rodríguez, Clara Galle, Coria Castillo, Elena Furiase, Julio Peña, Karla Sofia Gascón, Kira Miró, Mar Saura, Marc Clotet, Miki Esparbé, Mina El Hammani, Nadia de Santiago or Tamar Navas will also do so.
In addition, directors Aitor Arregi and José María Goenaga (“the Moriarti”), Alauda Ruíz de Azúa, Albert Serra, Alberto Rodríguez, Eva Libertad, Hernán Zin, Leticia Dolera, Isaki Lacuesta, Javier Calvo and Marcel Barrena as well as producers Agustín Almodóvar and Esther García are scheduled to appear on the red carpet.
