“There are still some things missing regarding the tariff, but we will be able to reach an agreement. Every 15 days I send a personal message to Trump to talk about the negotiation process. I have to accuse Trump because I am interested,” declared the Brazilian president, during a breakfast with journalists, at the Palácio do Planalto.
Lula’s criticism comes just days after White House withdrawal of the application of the 40% surcharge on part of sanctioned Brazilian products. The imbroglio continues, however, because not all products were exempt from the surcharge.
