The Bolsonarist PL deputy explains his vote against dosimetry
In the Senate, the vote on the text, which reduces the sentences of those involved in the undemocratic acts of January 8 and, therefore, of Bolsonaro, should be postponed until 2026. The government senators will ask for a revision, that is, more time to analyze the report which will be read next Wednesday (17/12) by Senator Esperidião Amin (PP-SC) at the Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ).
The proposal was approved by 291 votes to 148, after a day of confusion with the forced removal of MP Glauber Braga (PSol-RJ) from the Board of Directors. While Glauber presided, official House broadcasts were suppressed and staffers and journalists were blocked from accessing the plenary session. Attacks by the legislative police have been recorded.

Bolsonaro could see his prison sentence reduced by up to 2 years and 4 months, according to the project’s rapporteur, MP Paulinho da Força (Solidariedade-SP). His defense estimates that the reduction will be 4 years, as shown in the column by Igor Gadelha, of Metropolises.
The former president was sentenced by the Federal Court (STF) to 27 years and three months in prison for leading the coup plot.
This reduction in sentence, however, will depend on the interpretation of the STF and how Bolsonaro can reduce his prison sentence, through study, reading and internal work. Furthermore, depending on the analysis of the case, the sentence reduction in closed regime may be lower than the rapporteur’s forecast, ranging from 3 years and 4 months to 4 years and 2 months.
This would be the moment when Bolsonaro would remain imprisoned in the cell of the Superintendence of the Federal Police (PF), in Brasilia. He would continue to be sentenced to more than 20 years in prison, but could, thanks to dosimetry, serve a greater part of his sentence in a semi-open regime or at home.
