The Community of Madrid has expanded the schedule of the “012 Three Wise Men” service by 1,000 new appointments so that children can contact Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar by video call until next January 5. The initiative was very well received … since its opening on December 23, with more than 2,000 miners already booking their turn to speak with Their Majesties of the Orient.
This service, which is celebrating its third edition and is sponsored by Metro de Madrid, is part of the Christmas on the Ground activities. To participate, it is necessary to request an appointment via the institutional website, choosing the date and time. Each connection lasts approximately five minutes. Video calls are available daily from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., except on January 5 when they will end at 3:00 p.m. and January 1 when the service will remain closed.
New this year, from today until January 5, families will be able to go to the Civil Registry Office of the Community of Madrid, at 4 Carretas Street, to chat with their favorite Witch King via a digital screen, without the need for an appointment. This service point will have the same general hours, with special arrangements on December 31 and January 5, which will be operational until 6:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively; and January 1, which will remain closed.
012 Reyes Magos joins the free Christmas in Sol programming for the whole family, where the Forest of Wishes stands out, which this year was installed in the Plaza de Pontejos, and the Casita Solidaria, in this same location, which exhibits objects handmade by social entities until January 4.
Likewise, at the Royal Post Office, you can visit its crèche, which this year recreates the Flight into Egypt, in addition to the traditional crèche, under a starry sky of 60,000 LED bulbs. Likewise, since November 28, the regional government headquarters has hosted Christmas Carols in Sol with more than 300 performances from more than 250 choirs and groups from the region.
New this year, the immersive experience of the Canal de la Navidad, organized by Canal de Isabel II, raises awareness among Madrid residents of the importance of water and its proper use. For its part, the Madrid Metro runs with its Christmas Train on suburban line 3, every weekend and public holidays until January 6, presenting its convoys lit up and decorated with Christmas activities.
