National Police have arrested a man accused of beating his roommate to death with a dumbbell in Valencia. The first account of events indicates that the detainee suffers from an outbreak of psychological illness that he suffers from.

The incident happened last night, around 9:30 p.m., at a house in Plaza Arturo Piera in Valencia, where two men were sharing an apartment.

It was a neighbor of the property who called CIMACC Room 091 to report that he heard sounds of fighting in one of the houses. A number of officers headed to the indicated location, where they were able to reach the house through the balcony via the fire truck.

At that moment, police observed a deceased man in the hallway and the alleged perpetrator of the fatal attack kneeling next to him. They were both covered in blood and the attacker was holding a dumbbell handle in his hand. The victim had multiple injuries and heavy bleeding in his face and head.

The officers immediately arrested the alleged perpetrator, and he was transferred to a health center. For its part, medical services confirmed the man’s death and provided assistance to the man who was initially arrested due to bruises and head injuries.

The SAMU and primary care team traveled to the site, as designated by the Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU). Agents from the Homicide Group of the National Police and the Scientific Police of the Supreme Community Headquarters were in charge of the investigations.
