A 26-year-old woman was dragged several meters after her arm was held by the driver of a car during a traffic conflict on Avenida Senador Pinheiro Machado, in Santos, on the São Paulo coast. The incident occurred on November 26.
According to the police report, the victim, Thamyres Iannuzzi Barbero, was riding on the road on a motorcycle when the driver of a vehicle suddenly changed lanes and hit the side of the motorcycle. The collision did not cause any immediate injuries, but the argument began as soon as they both stopped at the traffic lights.
Still according to the police report, the driver got out of the car and kicked Thamyres’ motorcycle. As she attempted to photograph the vehicle’s license plate and stop the man from fleeing, the woman grabbed his arm and he sped off. The motorcyclist was dragged for a few meters before being pushed to the ground. She suffered bruises all over her body and reported pain in her knee, back and elbow, as well as damage to her motorcycle. The victim was taken by military police officers to the police station, where she received advice on legal procedures for criminal representation against the attacker.
A few days later, on December 2, the police updated the police report with the driver’s complete details and officially recorded the statement. The victim was informed that she had six months, from the moment she learned who the perpetrator was, to present criminal representation for the harm she had suffered.
