The National Police arrested in flagrante delicto a man suspected of committing a crime of theft of copper wiring committed in Cuenca. When officers arrived on scene, they located the man detained hidden in underground chamberas well as a large quantity of cut cables, piled up and prepared for collection. In addition, a large winch motor, a hammer drill and a shear were seized.
After the evaluation of the stolen material by the specialized company, it was determined that the total value of the recovered cabling, whose length was 605 meters and weighing 1,970 kilos, would amount to approximately 12,000 euros approximately.
The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Cuenca police investigating court.
