A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his own wife during a party in the town of Manaíra, Sertão da Paraíba. The crime occurred last Monday evening (12/15), around 11 p.m., and was allegedly motivated by the attacker’s dissatisfaction with the content of the woman’s conversation with friends during the meeting.
According to the civil police, the couple was participating in a meeting in a residence, accompanied by other people, when the man became irritated by what he heard between the women. According to delegate Gutemberg Cabral, the attacker lost control and launched a physical attack.

The victim was punched in the left eye, causing a deep bruise. Additionally, the suspect pulled the woman’s hair several times and slapped her in the face.
After the attacks, Civil Police were called, but the man fled the address before teams arrived. He was found a few hours later hiding in a neighborhood in Caatinga and was eventually arrested in the act.
The attacker underwent a custody hearing this Wednesday (17), when the court decided to transform his detention into preventive detention. The man remains at the disposal of Justice and must answer for domestic violence.
