This Monday, the Civil Guard rescued a man who was stuck in a tree after being surprised by a flood on a road of the municipality of Alhama de Murcia.
According to sources from the armed institute, around 7 a.m., a warning call was received, alerting that a man had been dragged by the flooding of the Rambla Guadalentín passing by the road that connects Alhama de Murcia to the industrial area of the city.
THE heavy rain recorded early in the morning caused the flood, which carried the affected person several meters until they managed to cling to a tree, from where they could call for help.
Civil Guard agents and members of the Fire Extinguishing and Rescue Consortium went to the scene and managed to rescue the man. He had symptoms of hypothermia and was treated by health services.
The Region of Murcia remains at risk due to the rains this Monday. The red alert declared early in the morning in the valley of Guadalentín, Lorca, Águilas and Vega del Segura predicted accumulations of up to 180 liters per square meter. Early in the morning, the alert was lowered to orange level, although precipitation of up to 100 liters per square meter is still expected in twelve hours.
