After a twist in the case of the death of Henay Rosa Gonçalves Amorim (featured photo)aged 31, her boyfriend, Alison de Araújo Mesquita, aged 43, was arrested this Monday morning (15/12), in the wake of the victim, in Divinópolis (MG).
Confronted with several signs that Henay was already dead before the collision, Alison confessed to civil police that she had killed her and that she had faked a traffic accident to try to hide the crime.

A cameraman filmed the moment the car stopped at a toll booth, minutes before the accident.

Suspicions of femicide emerged after investigators analyzed security camera footage that captured the minutes before the accident at a toll booth.
In the footage, Henay is seen sitting in the driver’s seat, seemingly unconscious, while Alison is in the passenger seat. At one point, he extends his hand to pay the ticket and then begins driving the vehicle impromptu.
According to civil police, the scene caught the attention of the toll attendant, who asked if everything was okay. About nine minutes later, the car took a wrong turn and collided with a bus. Henay’s death was confirmed at the scene.
History of violence
After the case turned around, civil police began collecting messages, photographs and medical records that would indicate a possible history of domestic violence.
Investigators say this context helps explain the evidence found and reinforces suspicions that Henay’s death was not an isolated event.
