
A 37-year-old man died in the early hours of last Friday (12/06), after trying to react to an approach by military police officers using a fake weapon, in the Palmital neighborhood, in Marília, in the interior of São Paulo. According to the incident report, residents had called military police to report that an armed suspect was driving around the area and threatening people.
Upon arriving at the scene, the team found the man and attempted to search him, but he allegedly refused to obey orders and threatened the officers. According to the police report, the suspect attempted to pull an object from his waist that appeared to be a gun, at which point one of the officers intervened and fired a shot.

Three police officers arrested after the death of a suspect went to an upscale neighborhood
The man was rescued and taken to hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries and died. After the intervention, the police discovered that the object carried by the suspect was a fake. The fake weapon was seized, as was the pistol used by the police officer during the action.
According to the Secretary of Public Security (SSP), an investigation was opened and images from security cameras in the region were collected to clarify the dynamics of the incident. The case was registered as a death resulting from police intervention at the Marília sectional police station.
