During the meeting, led by Florentino Pérez, the commission analyzed the work of coach Xabi Alonso and his relationship with part of the team.
According to the Spanish portal, the management defined the match against Manchester City, this Wednesday, at the Santiago Bernabéu, as decisive for the immediate future of coach Xabi Alonso. The Spaniard was hired in May this year by Real Madrid to replace Carlo Ancelotti, who left Spain to take over the Brazilian national team.
Depending on performance and result, changes may occur. Zinedine Zidane emerges as the strongest name to take over in the event of Xabi Alonso’s dismissal, while Jürgen Klopp, currently absent from the bench, appears as a more complex alternative, but not ruled out.
