After the two semi-finals of the Brazilian Cup between Vasco and Fluminense, the Maracanã reached, for the second consecutive year, the mark of 3 million supporters during official matches at the stadium.
According to the Maracanã administration, led by the Flamengo and Fluminense duo, exactly 3,182,799 people attended the 72 matches in the sacred temple of champions.
The total audience, however, will not be higher than that recorded in 2024: 3,473,045 people in 73 matches. The average attendance in 2025 so far is 44,206 fans.
Of course, the calculation does not include the last match of the year, next Sunday, between Vasco and Corinthians, in the grand final of the Brazilian Cup.
In 2025, the Maracanã will have the three largest audiences in Brazilian football. Flamengo’s matches against Ceará (73,244), Cruzeiro (72,565) and Estudiantes (71,977) exceeded the 70,000 spectator mark.
