Marcão do Povo called the civil police of Barueri, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, to file a criminal complaint against the singer Ludmilla. The SBT presenter requests the removal of a video published by the artist on December 19, in which she claims that he was convicted of racism.
The police have already opened an investigation to investigate the demands made by the SBT presenter. The information was published by Folha de S. Paulo.

Ludmilla wins the case against Marcão do Povo for racism
What Marcão do Povo says
Marcão argues that Ludmilla exceeded the limits of freedom of expression. He claims that the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) acquitted him of the charge brought by the singer in December 2024, a decision which was confirmed on appeal this year.
In the video, Ludmilla disputes Marcão’s version, claiming that he used a procedural maneuver to escape his conviction, although the court recognized the racism exercised against him. “He was not exonerated, my friends. In fact, he used a maneuver to get rid of the consequences. The court recognizes the racism he committed with me, against me. But he will not pay anything for it. This is an absurd procedural maneuver,” the singer said.
Ludmilla also questioned SBT’s position, saying the channel needed to take a stance on the permanence of a presenter implicated in an accusation of racism. “Now SBT, which is a historic broadcaster, which has always represented the plurality of Brazil, needs to know who is keeping a presenter convicted of racism at home,” he said.
In the document filed with the civil police, Marcão claims that the video is a lie and questions the decision of the STJ. “Such expressions do not admit of semantic ambiguity and exclude any attempt to present them as generic criticism, configuring an objective imputation of criminal conduct,” the document states. He adds that Ludmilla chose to disqualify the court’s decision and accuse the judiciary of alleged fraud, in addition to attributing a crime to it.

Remember
The case dates back to 2017, when Marcão do Povo, at the time at Record, called Ludmilla a “poor monkey” live. The episode gave rise to a lawsuit filed by the singer and resulted in the dismissal of the station’s presenter Edir Macedo. Marcão publicly declared that he had been acquitted, while Ludmilla countered, saying that he had used a procedural maneuver to avoid being punished, even though the racist act was recognized.
Currently, Marcão presents the Primeiro Impacto program on SBT. Her time at the station motivated Ludmilla to refuse a tribute, saying: “I cannot accept a tribute while this same station continues to give voice, space and support to people who have racist attitudes.”
