
The former president and founder of the PRO, Mauricio Macri, celebrated this Saturday the adoption of the budget law sent to the Senate by the government of Javier Milei, emphasizing: “the commitment and work of our block”.
Macri made the comments with a message he published on his social networks, as a sign of political rapprochement with the goals of the Casa Rosada, amid the restraint he has maintained in recent months and after the agreement with the new senators supporting the government to achieve the approval of the 2026 budget with the votes of 46 legislators on Friday evening.

Although the PRO bloc has three senators of its own, the missionary Enrique Göring Lara, the Chubut native Andrea Cristina and the Pampa native María Victoria Huala, the formal support of the ruling party and the participation of several Macri leaders in the electoral alliances and in the government were crucial in the negotiations and in the vote on the approval of the budget.

Friday evening’s session was the first with the new composition of the Senate and also marked the first success of the second phase of Javier Milei’s governance since the budget law was passed with the yes votes of 46 senators, the rejection of 25 and the abstention of one representative from Córdoba.
