Meetings, rejected amendments and explanation of the reform of the statutes of the Association of Brotherhoods of Cordoba

For this purpose, the Association created groups for days in which there was always a representative of one of the grouped brotherhoods. It was therefore necessary to arrive at a text which maintained the proposals of the Board of Directors and in turn assumes that of the brotherhoods.

However, some contributions were left out. The regulation provides that after the presentation of the first project, there is a deadline to present amendments which may or may not be included in the text submitted to the vote. This was done, but, as happened in 2023, the amendments did not pass through the assembly, but it was the commission that drafted the statutes that incorporated or rejected them.

One of those who did not enter was presented, with different formulas, by various brotherhoods, and tried to prevent entry older brothers in office may be part of the Group’s Board of Directors. According to their arguments, it was a matter of preventing conflicts of interest when it concerns a matter in which the company whose elder brother is a member of the body which manages the Group participates.

This was a hot topic, because at the moment there are six older brothers, starting with the first vice president and legal member, in the organization. The proposal was rejected and is not in the list final text that older siblings must vote.

Many of them would not have considered it a bad thing if these amendments could be voted on in assembly and rejoin the text, but the Group opted for a path very similar to that of 2023. Thus, some of those who spoke out against it rightly argued that they had been prevented from exercising their rights. rights express themselves on aspects which had been left aside in the text and on which they had not intervened.

The Group celebrated numerous meetingsthe last at the beginning of this month, to explain the content of the statutes, the purpose of the changes and the way in which the statutes will be developed in future regulations.

Recommendations

These crucial aspects will be detailed in penance postwhich currently only appear in recommendations, such as those published for 2025 on how to act in the event of rain modifying timetables and routes.

It cannot have the status of a norm because it has not yet been approved by the assembly, but it has been used as a guide for how to act during the last Holy Week and incorporates figures like the day delegate which can be useful, but which is not anchored in the regulations or the statutes, and does not in fact appear in the reform that the brotherhoods will vote on this Monday.
