The XLVI Spanish Navy Trophy, the XIII Almirante Marcial Sánchez-Barcaiztegui Trophy, the Paco Pérez Memorial 2025 already have their new champions. The Balearic tandem formed by Toni and Sasha Pons, from CN Ciutadella, was declared absolute winner of a particularly complicated edition, marked by … the low intensity of the wind and its constant instability.
After two days during which the Mar Menor made it possible, with difficulty, to carry out a test on Saturday and two on Sunday, the third and final day was blank due to the total absence of wind. Despite the efforts of the RCR Santiago de la Ribera race committee, the wind did not want to participate in the celebration of an event that brought together around 65 Snipe class boats. With the three events carried out during the first two days, the ranking was defined and made it possible to crown the new champions.
Toni and Sasha Pons easily won the Spanish Navy Trophy, in a competition in which they knew how to make the most of the few opportunities offered by the regatta course. The podium was completed by locals Francisco and Marina Sánchez, from RCR Santiago de la Ribera, who with 17 points were nine behind the champions, while the bronze medal went to Manuel Madrid (CN Los Nietos) and Alejandro Barnuevo (RCR Santiago de la Ribera), who finished with 24 points. The fourth and fifth positions respectively go to the couple formed by Rafa Díaz and María Bover, from RC Mediterráneo, with 27 points, and to the Portuguese José Pedro Santos and Gonzalo Barreto, from CN Cascais, who added 32 points.
In the special classifications, Ángel Ballesteros and Sonia Hidalgo, from RCN Motril, were first in the Master category, while in the Youth fleet the victory went to Manuel Barrionuevo, from CN Los Nietos, and Gonzalo Luis Cano, from CN Puerto Sherry.
