Madrid, December 1 (European Press) –

The Minister of Security and Citizen Protection of the Mexican government, Omar García Harfush, announced on Sunday the death of Pedro “N”, alias “El Pichón”, linked to the Sinaloa cartel, in a confrontation with the Navy that took place as part of an operation against buildings and laboratories in which agents confiscated weapons, drug compounds and chemical precursors.

He added in the same post that “when attacking Navy personnel, Pedro “N” Pichon lost his life, and he had an extradition order requested by the Federal Court for the Southern District of California for the crimes of forming a criminal gang to import and distribute fentanyl and cocaine.”

The operation took place, according to the Mexican newspaper El Sol de Sinaloa, in a mountainous area in the municipality of Chuix, in the same state of Sinaloa, in the northwest of the country.

Following this announcement, the US Ambassador to Mexico, Ronald Johnson, congratulated the Security Cabinet “on its successful operation in Michoacán against the Sinaloa Cartel.”

“Pichon is accused of multiple crimes in Mexico, including murder, kidnapping, torture and violent debt collection for drug trafficking. He was also wanted in the United States for various crimes,” the diplomat noted.

In this context, Johnson stressed that “this operation adds to the recent arrests of cartel members in Spain on charges of murder and kidnapping, as well as hundreds of additional arrests in the United States.” He stressed, “These results reflect what our countries can achieve when they work together against those who pose a threat to our citizens.”
