After a meeting of the leadership of the Liberal Party (PL) on Tuesday (2/12), in Brasilia, to end the crisis caused by the clash between members of the Bolsonaro family, regarding the party’s support for the candidacy of Ciro Gomez (PSDB) for the Ceará government, former First Lady Michele Bolsonaro (PL-DF) posed smiling for photos next to her stepson, Senator Flavio Bolsonaro. (PL-RJ), by Representative André Fernández (PL-CE), by the National President of the Party, Waldemar Costa Neto, and Senator Rogerio Marinho (PL-RN).
The photos were posed alongside a cardboard cutout of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) (see below)Michelle posted it on social media. “With prayer, honest conversation, and unity, Brazil has a solution,” she wrote in the post. The demonstration took place amid the publication of a memorandum from PL Mulher, informing that the party had decided to suspend support for Ciro Gomez’s candidacy.

According to Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, the summit members spoke “like adults” after criticizing and exchanging criticism since Sunday (11/30). “Together, as adults, we dealt with Ciara’s peculiarities, and as mature people, aiming to save Brazil from the hands of the Workers’ Party, it was very clear, in fact, that what we had identified (which) was a noise of communication, where Michelle spoke with her heart and with the authority and truth that she carried in her words at every event she went to.”
The head of the Liberal Party of Ceará, federal MP Andre Fernández, also reported that after the clash with the former First Lady, the party would withdraw its support for Cerro’s candidacy. “We will do this formation together (…) Apparently, for the time being, we will take a break, we will rethink a better future for the state of Ceara, and I thank you for your confidence in continuing to lead this expression,” Andre said.

The tension between members of the Bolsonaro clan became public after last weekend, when Michel publicly criticized the approach of the Liberal Party Directorate (PL) in Ceara with Ciro Gomez (PSDB), during a party event in Fortaleza (CE).
In her speech, Michele rebuked local allies for trying to cozy up to the former governor of Ceará, who has already announced his candidacy for the position in next year’s elections.
“It is about this alliance that you (PL-CE) rushed to make. (…) An alliance with the man (Chiro) who is against the greatest leader of the right, it is not possible. (…) We want calm, we want unity, and we see that the person (Chiro) does not raise the white flag. The person keeps saying that the family is a family of thieves, a family of criminals. They liken President Bolsonaro to a chicken thief. So, there is no way, this no longer exists,” Michel said.
The former First Lady’s speech contradicted the announcement previously made by Rep. Andre Fernandez, angering local leaders and exposing internal tensions in the party. At the end of October, Fernandez stated that Jair Bolsonaro had endorsed Hizb ut-Tahrir’s support for Cero’s candidacy for Ceará’s government.
After the event, the parliamentarian refuted Michel. But the repercussions were higher among Bolsonaro’s children. Flavio Bolsonaro was the first to respond to his stepmother. Today is Monday (12/1) at CapitalsHe stated via Igor Gadelha’s column that Michel’s speech was “tyrannical and embarrassing.”
Then children 02, 03 and 04 – Carlos, Eduardo and Jair Renan Bolsonaro – came out to defend their brother, thus attacking Michel.
