Milei will travel to Norway to accompany Corina Machado at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony

As the administration accelerates the start of extraordinary sessions in Congress to try to advance the budget and reforms in the labor, tax and criminal codes, the president said Javier Milei will travel to Oslo, Norwayto accompany the Venezuelan leader this Wednesday Corina Machado at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.

Confirmation of Milei’s presence in Norway was released by Machado’s official campaign command a message shared by the president himself In X.

“Thank you, Argentina, for accompanying freedom,” says the message, which goes on with gratitude to Milei, “for confirm your participation in the ceremony of the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo accompanied by the leader of Venezuela”.

“Your presence in Norway is a gesture of continental brotherhood that reaffirms Argentina’s commitment to democracy and the defense of the human rights of the Venezuelan people,” the message continued.

Later, after leading the presentation of the F-16 aircraft, the president shared another post on X, this time from Venezuelan leader Elisa Trotta, who thanked him for confirming her presence in Oslo. “This gesture reflects Argentina’s commitment to democracy, justice and the defense of human rights,” Trotta said.

In addition to Milei, Paraguayan President Santiago Peña also confirmed his presence at the ceremony. “Thank you for accompanying Venezuelans on this historic day for democracy and freedom in our region. It will be a great honor! On this day we will reaffirm the solidarity and brotherhood between the people of Paraguay and Venezuela and our commitment to the defense of democracy in our region,” Machado wrote to Peña to thank him.

Milei, who was already very critical of Venezuela before taking office, emphatically congratulated Machado on the Nobel Peace Prize. “My congratulations on this more than well-deserved recognition of your tremendous struggle in the courageous defense of FREEDOM and democracy,” the President wrote in X when the award was announced.

In September, Milei declared the so-called Sun Cartel, a group that Washington associates with the government of Venezuela, a terrorist organization in line with Donald Trump’s policies.

On that occasion, the Presidential Office released a statement citing a report from the US Department of Justice to confirm that the Suns cartel “is led by high-ranking members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces of Venezuela, including (President) Nicolás Maduro and (Interior Minister) Diosdado Cabello.”
