The financial support received by beneficiaries of the Youth Building the Future program will increase to P9,582.47 per month starting January 1, 2026, due to the increase in the minimum wage. In 2025, beneficiaries received 8,480 pesos per month, so this new amount represents a 13% increase for the training period. The program prioritizes people who live in highly marginalized municipalities or historically discriminated groups.
The keys to the professional integration program for young people
Young people build the future is one of the social programs of the Government of Mexico. For 12 months, it offers free training in companies, workshops, local businesses, organizations and institutions to young people aged 18 to 29 who are not studying or working at the time of their formation.
Participating work centers serve as tutors and evaluate apprentices’ performance monthly. In turn, they also evaluate their tutor and receive free materials and supplies necessary to carry out their activities. The objective of this call is to enable apprentices to develop skills that facilitate their integration into the job market.
Attendance is mandatory during hours set by the workplace, which can vary from five to eight hours per day, five days per week. During the months that the program lasts, young people receive monthly assistance equivalent to a minimum wage and benefit from IMSS medical insurance with health, maternity and professional risk coverage.
At the end of the training year, program beneficiaries receive a document certifying the skills acquired. Thus, if they are not hired by the workplace, they can access alternatives to facilitate their integration into the labor market. Finally, participating companies obtain a distinctive award from the Mexican government.
Current registration period
Since December 1, a new application period for the program has been active. Interested people must register on the youngesconstruyendoelfuturo.stps.gob.mx/ platform and consult the targeting map to find out the work centers available in their locality. After selecting the program they are interested in, they should apply and keep an eye out for updates, as they might be called for an interview at the selected employment agency. For their part, the work centers have three calendar days to accept or refuse the request.
