Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), rejected Chancellor Carlos Bolsonaro’s (PL) request to change the date of his father’s visit to former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in prison. The visit was initially approved for December 2, 2025, at Federal Police control in Brasilia, and was later rescheduled for Thursday (4/12).
Carlos Bolsonaro requested, through his lawyer, that the visit take place on December 7, that is, next Sunday, his birthday. The lawyers said in their petition that the change would be of a humanitarian nature.
In the order, Moraes stressed: “Accordingly, I reject the request to change the date of the authorized visit of Carlos Bolsonaro, from 4/12/2025 to 7/12/2025, because the aforementioned decree does not provide for visits on Sundays.”

Bolsonaro’s defense claimed that the decree regulating family visits provides, as a general rule, that they take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but may allow exceptions in humanitarian or force majeure cases. However, it considers that “such administrative regulations do not prevent, in the face of specific and justified circumstances, allowing exceptions. Flexibility is appropriate when there are humanitarian, logistical or force majeure reasons.”

But Moraes did not accept this claim. In the same decision, the Minister also decided that the former agent’s defense should specify “the date and time, within legal possibilities, to conduct physical therapy,” a release that the lawyers also requested.
On Wednesday, Bolsonaro received a visit from cardiologist Brazil Ramos Caedo for medical care. Initially, the defense requested that two health professionals be able to visit him in prison: one a cardiologist and the other Kleber physiotherapist Antonio Caedo de Freitas.
Moraes partially granted the request, releasing only the cardiologist. Under the decision, physical therapy can only be performed in the case of specific medical indications and with prior approval from the court responsible for the case.
Jair Bolsonaro is serving a prison sentence of 27 years and 3 months after being convicted by the First Commission of the STF, for leading a criminal organization aiming to stage a coup after the 2022 elections. Bolsonaro began serving his sentence on November 25, after the final ruling in Criminal Case No. 2668.
