The lack of electricity continues to affect several regions of the Sao Paulo in the morning of this Monday 15. A total of 29,140 customers continue to have their service interrupted throughout the Enel concession area, which serves more than 8 million households in the state.
In the capital alone, 18,639 homes remain without electricity, according to the Map of lack of light in São Paulo, updated at 5:19 a.m. by Enel. This number corresponds to 0.32% of the city’s 5.8 million properties.
In the metropolitan region, Cotia is the most affected municipality, with 3,158 homes still without electricity. The dealer had promised to completely restore supply by the end of Sunday, which was not done.
On Friday the 12th, the São Paulo court accepted a civil action filed by the public prosecutor and by the Office of the Public Defender, which ordered power restored to properties still affected by the “blackout” within 12 hours. THE the fine, in the event of non-compliance, was set at R$200,000/hour.
Since Wednesday 10, the city has experienced a peak of 2.2 million propertiesaffecting millions of people in various regions. According to an alert from the São Paulo Civil Defense, there are high risk of disruptions across the state until next Tuesday 16.
