Three deputies from left-wing parties published old videos of demonstrations in Salvador on social networks as if they were the demonstration against Dosimetria PL that took place this Sunday (14) on the outskirts of Barra.
The video, which shows a crowd occupying both lanes of Avenida Oceânica and all along Morro do Cristo with demonstrators shouting “No amnesty”, was republished by federal deputies José Guimarães (PT-CE), Jandira Feghali (PC do B-RJ) and Fernanda Melchionna (PSOL-RS).
The footage, however, comes from the September 21 protest against PEC da Blindagem, which featured artists such as Daniela Mercury and Wagner Moura in an electric trio. At the end of the video you can hear an excerpt from the speech given by the Bahian actor in September.
THE Leaf was at the demonstration in Salvador between 11:00 and 12:00 this Sunday (14), when the demonstration left Morro do Cristo towards Farol da Barra, occupying only one of the avenue’s lanes. There was no presence of electric trios or artist speeches during the demonstration.
The video reposted by the deputies was initially published by an activist this Sunday at 7 a.m., well before the start of the protest. Throughout the day, it was replicated by influencers and influential left-wing pages.
In a note, the advisor to Fernanda Melchionna (PSOL) recognized the error and deleted the message on the parliamentarian’s networks.
“As soon as we learned that we had posted misleading material, we removed the post. Our team is very careful about the content they post. Unfortunately, we made an error and we corrected the error as soon as we became aware of it.”
Advisors to José Guimarães and Jandira Feghali also reported that the video was published in error and deleted from the networks.
