This strategy also follows the announcement that Paramount Network would abandon its presence on DTT also on the last day of the year, moving its broadcasts to the Internet via the Pluto TV platform of free television with advertisements, on which the Hollywood distributor wishes to concentrate its efforts. All these steps are part of a global emissions reduction strategy with the objective of saving $500 million.
In itself, this was not enough change for the future of the company, Paramount Skydance finds itself immersed in the puja to complete with Warner Bros. Discovery, with an offer of 93.250 million euros which wants to convince shareholders that the agreement is better than the one signed with Netflix. MTV, in particular, had lost its identity in a previous way, due to the change of screens of music videos and music, from television to platforms like YouTube or social networks like TikTok. MTV, not Music Television, reinvented itself as a series more focused on quotes or real-life programs such as Teen Mom, Catfish, Moron and Jersey Shore, but along the way there was a whole bunch of secondary channels still dedicated to songs and music videos.
