The Prosecutor’s Office emphasized that to date, there has been no collaboration from those under investigation. In the case of private contracts, the investigation of possible irregularities depends on the contribution of the persons concerned.
Therefore, anyone with relevant information about the case can contact Prodecon, at the MPDFT headquarters, room 112, or contact us by telephone (61) 3343-9851/3343-9548 or by email at prodecon@mpdft.mp.br.
THE Metropolises has contacted the daycare’s defense team and is awaiting a response. Space remains open for details.
To understand
In May this year, the 3rd Police Station (Cruzeiro) launched an investigation operation into reports of child abuse in daycare centers. Earlier that month, the report of the Metropolises reported that after students became ill and showed signs of food poisoning, the students’ parents discovered unsanitary conditions in the daycare’s kitchen.
This week’s police action came after 22 incidents were recorded in the 3rd DP, with reports of children up to 3 years old suffering abuse at the institution. Casa da Nanny was closed after the civil police operation.
New direction
In the civil investigation, in addition to the new investigations targeting a unit managed by the same officials in Asa Sul, a new investigative center emerged, referring to the operation of a children’s school in Arniqueira.
The investigation was launched following an article published by Metropoliseswho appointed Helio Edson Alves e Silva — one of the actors involved in the Casa da Nanny affair — as managing partner of the educational institution.
Agents from the State Secretariat for the Protection of Urban Order (DF Legal) went to the site after the case was initiated by the Department of National Education (SEEDF).
According to DF Legal, the establishment was banned for carrying out an economic activity without an operating permit. “The school must immediately cease its activity under penalty of a fine and other legal sanctions,” the ministry said in a note.
Attempts to contact EscoLAR Educacional have been made since the first article was published, but with no response. Space remains open for details.
Although it was designated by the MPDFT as one of the partners of Casa da Nanny, the defense of the institution, requested by Metropolisesstated that there was no connection with the school of Helio Edson Alves e Silva.
“We clarify that Casa da Nanny and the school in question have no corporate link. They are distinct institutions, with no direct or indirect relationship in their administration or commercial structure,” the note underlines.
