Napoli squandered their chance to lead Italy – see the ranking. Away at the Bluenergy Stadium, they lost 1-0 to Udinese in the 15th round. The result leaves the Neapolitans in second place with 31 points, one behind Milan, but they can still be overtaken, since Inter, with 30, faces Genoa this Sunday (14). Udinese reached 21 points and reached tenth place.
Naples, despite dominating possession (63% against 37% for Udinese), struggled to penetrate the hosts’ well-positioned defense. The team led by Antonio Conte failed to convert their control of the match into clear scoring chances. Osimhen, for example, struggled to shake off the firm marking of Samir and Pereyra. The away team, however, could not pose a significant threat to Silvestri’s goal in the first half.

In the final phase, Napoli tried to press even more, but once again found themselves disorganized and unable to create any real chances. Zielinski tried to activate his teammates with vertical passes, but the lack of harmony between the midfield and the attack was evident. In the 12th minute, Insigne had a good chance after a cross from Lozano, but failed to finish with precision.
With time running out, Napoli tried to take more risks by replacing Simeone with Osimhen. However, pressure attempts were thwarted by Udinese’s strong defense. In the 28th minute, during a counterattack, Ekkelenkamp received a pass from Davis, advanced and finished with class in the left corner.
