Norte Fluminense oil workers represented by Sindipetro-NF decided to suspend the strike at Petrobras this Tuesday (30). In a press release, the union indicates that the decision was taken after a meeting this morning, after 16 days of strike.
The Single Federation of Oil Workers (FUP), the national entity that represents the category, ended the strike on December 22, after 8 days of strike, with 13 of the 14 affiliated unions having suspended their movement. Only the Norte Fluminense group remained.
Sindipetro-NF has 20% of workers in the unionized category in the country and represents more than 25 thousand workers at its base.
When contacted, Petrobras asserts that the shutdowns have had no impact on production and that market supply is guaranteed. “Emergency teams were mobilized where necessary,” the company said. According to the oil company, the majority of bases have called off the strike action and other union units are expected to deliberate on the issue throughout the day.
