
Some 300 women have already supported the manifesto promoted last Thursday by the Secretary for Equality of the PSOE of Malaga in which she expressed herself “clearly and energetically”. its “absolute condemnation of any form of harassment, violence or sexist behavior”it doesn’t matter where it comes from and it happens where it happens”, following the complaint of a socialist activist from Torremolinos, Málaga, against the general secretary of the local section of the PSOE, Antonio Navarro, for alleged sexual harassment. “Not a single woman, not an attack without response”, adds the text.
Concretely, the manifesto promoted by the Equality Secretariat of the PSOE of Málaga, led by Yolanda Florido, was supported, among others, by historical figures of Malaga socialism such as Marisa Bustinduy, Chiqui Gutiérrez del Álamo, Emelina Fernández, Amparo Bilbao, Rosa Torres, Remedios Martel, Paloma Alonso and Pilar Oriente.
Also for mayors like Antonia García, Mariló Narváez and Sagrario Fernández; national deputies Mari Nieves Ramírez and Isabel Pérez; Andalusian parliamentarians Alicia Murillo and Isabel Aguilera; and provincial deputies Desiré Cortés and Patricia Alba.
Likewise, also for Malaga City Council councilors Rosa del Mar Rodriguez and Carmen Martín; former senator Estefanía Martín Palop, former parliamentarian Beatriz Rubiño, former vice-counsellor Montse Reyes, former national representative Begoña Tundidor, feminist leaders like Meli Galarza and Andrea Barbotta and members of the provincial executive of the PSOE like Ana Villarejo, Emma Molina and Soraya García. The manifesto was supported by socialist women from all regions of the province.
Thus, in the aforementioned writings, they show their “total, sincere and ‘sororo’ support for the companion who had the courage to denounce the events that occurred.
In this statement, they also indicate their support “for women who could find themselves in a similar situation, inside or outside our party. “We know that raising your voice carries enormous emotional, personal and political costs. That is why we strongly affirm: you are not alone. You never will be. Neither will any woman who decides to raise her voice in the face of injustice,” they add.
“As feminist women, we reaffirm our commitment to the construction ofand spaces free of violence and with the unwavering defense of the rights of all. We demand that internal protocols be applied with rigor, speed, independence and sensitivity, and that action be taken decisively in the face of any behavior contrary to our values,” they emphasize.
Likewise, they indicate their support for the decision of the Federal Directorate of the PSOE to provisionally suspend the accused of activism, as well as the request from provincial leaders to make their institutional positions available.
“We believe in a PSOE that is an example of equality, justice and respect. Listen, support and protect those who denounce. That it does not normalize any form of violence.
