Representative of Jamaica at Miss Universe 2025, Gabrielle Henriremains in delicate condition after suffering a serious fall during a preliminary presentation held on November 19 in the city of Nonthaburi, Thailand.
The competition organization published this Monday (8/12) a update on the clinical state of the model.

According to the official statement, the candidate “suffered a serious fall through an opening in the stage while walking during the preliminary competition on November 19, 2025, resulting in intracranial hemorrhage with loss of consciousness, fracture, facial lacerations and other serious injuries.”
The text, published jointly by the Miss Universe team and Gabrielle Henry’s family, also reports that the model was “immediately admitted to the intensive care unit in Bangkok, where she remained in critical condition under constant neurological monitoring and continues to require specialized monitoring 24 hours a day.”

Gabrielle is expected to leave Thailand in the coming days. According to the organization, she will return to Jamaica accompanied by a medical team and go directly to a local hospital, where she will continue her healing process.

The accident had a major impact last month, when videos taken by the audience showed the exact moment the model stepped off the edge of the stage and fell through the opening in the center of the structure.
The images also recorded the candidate leaving on a stretcher after first aid. Shortly before, Miss Great Britain had slipped during the national costume stage, but managed to recover on her own. Reports attributed the falls to the slippery surface, on which she was thought to accumulate glitter and spray tan.
Later information pointed out that the gateway was laid out with a large circular space, similar to the shape of an areola, which may have contributed to Gabrielle not noticing the progression towards the opening. The site TMZ recalled that the participants carried out several rehearsals before the presentations, but the incident nevertheless surprised those who followed the event live.
