At 34, midfielder Oscar will retire from football. The São Paulo player decided to hang up his boots after fainting during physical exams in November and being diagnosed with vasovagal syncope. The decision was already expected by the club, which was not counting on the athlete to plan the next season.

Oscar will meet again with Tricolor to define the terms of the termination of the contract. The end of the relationship must be amicable. The tendency is for the announcement to be made in the coming days.
The midfielder was revealed by São Paulo in 2008 and helped win the Brazilian league title that year. He left Tricolor in June 2010 to sign with Internacional, where he was Gauchão champion.
Oscar’s career
He rose to prominence in 2012, when he was signed by Chelsea, from England. With the Blues, he won the Premier League, English League Cup and Europa League. In 2017, he left the English team to join the port of Shanghai, China, where he became an idol.
He played for the Brazilian team in the 2014 World Cup, as one of the team’s main players, alongside Neymar. He returned to São Paulo in 2025 as the big signing of the season. Upon his return to MorumBis, the number 8 only played 21 matches, scoring two goals and providing five assists.
