Without a place in the main team, fullback Gilberto must leave Verdão for more opportunities at Rubro-Negro

Palmeiras negotiates the loan of right-back Gilberto with Athletico. Despite being one of the highlights of the club’s youth team, the 20-year-old is not part of Abel Ferreira’s plans for the season. The club’s intention is that the young athlete will be able to train throughout 2026.
Gilberto is considered one of the great promises of the Alviverde academy and stands out for his participation in goals. Last season, the full-back provided 13 assists in 36 appearances for Palmeiras’ under-20 team, scoring three goals. Additionally, he was part of the Brazilian team that participated in the World Cup in Chile.
Last season, Gilberto trained with Palmeiras’ main team, but did not get opportunities with Abel Ferreira. The full-back appeared in four matches for the team in 2025, but he did not take the field.
Besides Athletico, other clubs even looked at Verdão for the player. At Rubro-Negro, the fullback should get opportunities during the Campeonato Paranaense, in which Furacão will use the Aspirants team. In its main squad, the Paraná club has Benavídez and Madson.
