Papal Guimarães’ ex-girlfriend Carla Lisa speaks out after she was attacked by an influencer

Digital influencer Carla Lisa spoke on Friday the 5th of this month about the assault she suffered from her ex-boyfriend, Babal Guimarães, brother of SBT presenter Lucas Guimarães. A day after the case was announced, she told her how she was feeling and thanked her for the support she had received.

She said: “It was very difficult for me to see all of this happening. This video that is being circulated exposes me in a way that no woman deserves to go through. Situations like this leave scars and trauma. It is something that no father, mother or daughter should ever see and carry.”

The video of the attack was recorded by a security camera on the 28th. The images show Papal and Carla arguing in front of a residential apartment in Maceió (Alba) until Carlinhos Maya’s ex-brother-in-law pulled his girlfriend by the hair. She tries to move away, but is pushed against the wall. Babal even threw something at Carla.

Papal Guimarães was caught attacking his girlfriend in front of an apartment building in Maceió:

The influencer announced the severance of her relationship with Babel. “All I want now is my privacy, my time, and my peace. I want to thank everyone who messaged me, who worried about me, and who said they were with me. I received so much affection from you. It gave me the strength to hold my head up at this moment.”

She also said that she had always been treated well by the Babal family and highlighted the support she received from Lucas Guimarães. “I want to make it clear that his family always treated me with respect. His brother Lucas was very welcoming to me at that moment. We exchanged several messages. I hope from the bottom of my heart that no woman goes through something like this, and that we continue to support and protect each other.”

In an interview with Gossipingof SBT, Lucas disavowed his brother’s stance. The broadcaster said: “I do not support any kind of aggression, immorality or cowardice. I feel ashamed. What I feel now is extreme shame towards my brother.”

Statement by Babal Guimarães

In a note sent to landBabal’s defense declared that the images were “horrific and naturally arouse public outrage,” and also stated that they “strongly denounce any act of violence against women and express their solidarity with the victim who appears in the video.”

The statement also said that the case would be discussed at the procedural level, respecting the entire Brazilian legal mechanism, and stressed that Babal has the right to defense and cannot be treated as guilty before trial.

“Although the content of the recordings causes a sensation, the Brazilian legal system unavoidably stipulates that no one can be treated as guilty before a final decision is made. Therefore, until the final closure of the process, Babal Guimarães must be considered innocent, in strict compliance with the constitutional principle of the presumption of innocence. The defense will monitor the case in an artistic and responsible manner, and cooperate with the competent authorities to fully clarify the facts,” the official memorandum stated.
