The referee had to stop the match after the invasion of supporters; TJD will define who will win the Paraná competition trophy
The decision of the 60th Paraná Cup, between Capão Raso and Trieste, saw scenes of violence and ended before the last penalty, this Saturday afternoon (13/12). Thus, amid widespread confusion, striker Bill, formerly of Coritiba, and defender Jair, both from Trieste, suffered attacks and went to hospital. Witnesses said both men were unconscious when they left the lawn.
The match took place at the José Carlos de Oliveira Sobrinho stadium, in the Novo Mundo district of Curitiba. Jhow scored for Capão Raso, while Feijão scored for Trieste in regulation time. So, as the first leg score was also 1-1, the decision went to penalties.
The Paraná Cup final took place without police
On penalties, after nine penalties, Capão Raso won 3-2 when referee Lucas Paulo Torezin stopped the match. After all, according to reports, provocations between players sparked a fight. Subsequently, this fight quickly evolved into a physical assault, with punches and kicks.
Supporters of the home team forced open one of the doors and invaded the pitch. Without police, there was a general lack of control. Capão’s athletes tried to protect the Trieste players, who were trying to leave the stadium. Some jumped over the wall, while others ran towards the locker rooms. It was precisely because of the lack of security that the referee decided to end the match.
Therefore, the definition of the Paraná Cup champion will be the responsibility of the Paraná Sports Court (TJD-PR). The 60th Taça Paraná (officially named Taça Paraná 2025) is the state’s main amateur football competition.
