“What a tragedy the death of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele. It’s shocking in many ways, but especially to me because I worked with him last year. He directed me in Lumbar Tap 2. He was such an optimistic and kind man. Life can be so unfair, and this tragedy proves it. His father, Carl Reiner, was a great comedian before him, and Rob followed in his father’s footsteps, doing incredible work in many great films. I will always have fond memories of Rob, and the thought that he and his wife will no longer be with us breaks my heart. Thanks for all the humor, Rob. Rest in peace. My love, Paul.”

“What a huge loss. Rob Reiner was one of my favorite directors. He made some of the most formative films of my generation. He emerged from the shadow of the great Carl Reiner and his career as a television actor to become a great director, with an incredible filmography. Lumbar Tap is one of the best comedies of all time – and the list goes on. She was a kind, caring and very, very funny person. I didn’t know him well, but I was always a fan and I feel so sad for those who knew him and his family.”

“Michelle and I are heartbroken by the tragic passing of Rob Reiner and his beloved wife, Michele. Rob’s achievements in film and television gave us some of the most beloved stories on screen. But behind every story he produced was a deep belief in the goodness of people – and a lifelong commitment to putting that belief into practice. Together, he and his wife lived a life defined by purpose. They will be remembered for the values whom they defended and the countless people they inspired. We send our deepest condolences to all those who loved them.

“I am horrified by this terrible news. Absolutely devastated. I loved Rob. He was brilliant and kind, a man who made films of all genres to challenge himself as an artist. He also fought courageously for his political beliefs. He changed the course of my life. Michele was a talented photographer. She took my beautiful photos for the Crazy obsession. My heart is broken for them both. My thoughts are with their family,” the actress said in a note sent to the portal Deadline.

“Rob and Michele Reiner are two people who truly made the world a better place. It’s the honest truth. We have been friends since our children were little and went to the same preschool. It is impossible to reconcile the tragedy of their deaths with the beauty they gave to the world… Our hearts are with their families, with the deepest sadness and love. Rob and Michelle, may your memories be forever.”

“Our careers and lives have intersected many times over the decades, since Rob wrote the script for the pilot episode of Happy days and later, when we both moved from actors to directors and producers. He proved to be an exceptional filmmaker, a helpful colleague and, above all, a dedicated citizen. Rob will be greatly missed. My condolences go out to his family and many close friends.”

“I loved Michele and Rob Reiner. They were some of my closest friends. We raised our children together. We laughed together, we cried together, we played together, we dreamed together. We had dinner together last week and they had the best time of their lives: loving each other, loving their friends, their family, their country. They never gave up on our country. They wanted to make it better. They always, always wanted to make our world a better place and were willing to fight to make it the same. country they loved (…) Life won’t be the same without you here, that’s for sure.”

“Rob Reiner was a lovely man. I spoke to him last night for over an hour. I always enjoyed his company. I met him at his father’s house in 1975. He was talking to me about filming at Stonehenge and his plans for the future. It’s terrible. I will miss him terribly. An intelligent, talented and very caring man. What a tragedy.”

His wife, Michele, was a lovely and generous person – I wish I had known her better. The world lost two extraordinary human beings.
