The countdown to the new year has already started on Avenida Paulista. At the turn of 2025 and 2026, the capital’s main postcard will once again welcome thousands of people for a free party combining music, sport and large gatherings.
Throughout December 31, the area will be occupied with shows, the traditional São Silvestre race and a structure prepared to guarantee security and services to the public.
Activities begin at 8 a.m., with a performance by DJ KVSH in honor of the 100th anniversary of the São Silvestre International Race, which this year will bring together 55,000 athletes from 48 countries.
From 2:00 p.m., the Paulista stage hosts religious music performances, with Colo de Deus, Frei Gilson and Padre Marcelo Rossi.
At the start of the evening, the show follows the most popular musical styles in the capital. João Gomes takes the stage at 6 p.m., followed by Belo at 7:20 p.m., Maiara & Maraisa at 8:40 p.m. and Ana Castela at 10 p.m.
Singer Simone Mendes resumes the countdown to the arrival of 2026 at 11:20 p.m. After the tour, Latino ends the party with a show scheduled until 2:30 a.m.
At midnight, the public will be able to watch 15 minutes of silent fireworks, without noise, as part of an action aimed at reducing the impact on the hearing impaired, the elderly, children and animals.
6.5 tons of artifacts will be used. The event will also include a 17 meter by 20 meter stage, a scenographic LED panel and ten video towers spread along the avenue.
The celebration will also include a space reserved for people with disabilities and reception and social protection actions, in particular assistance to women in situations of violence and initiatives aimed at the homeless population.
Security
To guarantee safety and speed of intervention throughout the program, the New Year’s Paulista operation will have 1,074 agents, 355 vehicles, bilingual teams, the use of Dronepol, in addition to Smart Bus and Smart Dog.
Surveillance will be provided by 9,428 cameras of the Smart Sampa system.
The military police will employ 1,950 officers, supported by drones, observation towers, plainclothes officers and 200 facial recognition cameras.
The Metropolitan Civil Guard will operate with more than 1,100 agents.
Health
In the health sector, the public will have seven gas stations throughout Paulista, as well as ambulances and mobile intensive care units.
The teams will be integrated into emergency care units operating 24 hours a day, with a Situation Room responsible for monitoring incidents in real time.
Urban cleanliness will be reinforced with 550 exclusive agents, the use of recycled water and the development of selective collection.
Transportation
In public transport, 500 buses on 46 lines will be in service, accompanied by SPTrans technicians. The CET will mobilize 290 agents, 90 vehicles and more than 1,400 trestles to organize road closures.
Due to the consecutive holding of São Silvestre, the Catholic New Year and the Paulista New Year, in addition to the avenue, Alameda Santos and Alameda São Carlos do Pinhal will also be closed.
The blockades begin at midnight on the 31st and continue until the first hour of January 2, with special arrangements to guarantee access to area hospitals.
With music, sports and full streets, New Year’s Eve in Paulista reinforces a habit already anchored in the city: celebrating the New Year outdoors, in a space that symbolizes encounter, diversity and the collective desire to start the year in a festive atmosphere.
