Police officers from the DEIC (State Department of Criminal Investigation) are carrying out an operation this Thursday morning (18) against the laundering of money from drug trafficking by the PCC (Capital First Command).
Called Operation Argyros, the action responds to four arrest warrants and 19 other search and seizure warrants in Carapicuíba, Greater São Paulo; Bragança Paulista and Botucatu, within the state; and in Ponta Porã, in Mato Grosso do Sul, according to the SSP (Secretariat of Public Security).
According to police, the faction operates in drug trafficking in several states and launders money through the purchase of cars, homes and luxury goods.
According to police, these locations serve as the gang’s operational bases for drug distribution.
Weapons of different calibers, ammunition, money, luxury watches, among other items, have been seized so far.
The operation is coordinated by police officers from the 6th Disccpat police station (Investigations into criminal factions) and involves 70 police officers.
