Madrid, December 6 (EFE).- The final decision of the People’s Court on Complicity in the Genocide of Palestinians in the Spanish State (TPCGP-25) concluded that Spain has been cooperating for decades with Israeli colonial policy despite its full knowledge of the illegal violations committed by Israel.
This is what they express in the so-called “Madrid Declaration”, where they made clear that the various Spanish governments did not impose the sanctions imposed by international law in the face of conflicts such as those existing between Israel and Palestine.
The TPCGP-25 group was chaired by Rabab Abdel Hadi, from the University of San Francisco, Luz Gomez, from the Autonomous University of Madrid, and Raji Sourani, from the Palestinian Center for Human Rights.
The independent and autonomous forum, organized by the Network of Universities for Palestine, brought together 220 people at the end of November at the Faculty of Politics and Sociology of the Complutense University of Madrid.
The Court considered the facts based on principles recognized in norms such as the Charter of the United Nations, the Geneva Conventions of 1949, the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and the body of international human rights law and general principles of law recognized by the community of nations.
The resolution issued these days stressed that “the existence of multinational Israeli extractive companies with branches in Spain and directly complicit in genocide has been documented.”
Likewise, he criticized “the Spanish state’s participation in legitimizing the Israeli occupation, apartheid and genocide through cultural promotion, projecting a distorted and positive image of Israel.”
The 25-point Madrid Declaration reflected how the Israeli presence in the Spanish sports context is “noted in many areas.”
Likewise, they criticized the continued “significant portion” of Spanish state universities to participate in research consortia, and to maintain cooperation agreements, professorships and mobility programs with Israeli universities and research institutions. Evie
