Perry Bamonte, guitarist for The Cure, dies at 65

The Cure guitarist Perry Bamonte died at the age of 65 over Christmas following a brief illness, the band confirmed in a statement.

“Calm, intense, intuitive, constant and extremely creative, “Teddy” was a warm and vital part of the … story of The Cure,” they said in the text.

His bandmates sent their condolences to his family and said they would miss him “very much”. A few years ago, in 2022, they reunited again for a 90-concert tour that culminated in London in November 2024.
