The Federal Police (PF) on Tuesday (12/2) executed two search and seizure warrants in Operation Intolerans, launched to identify those responsible for denial-of-service (DDoS) cyberattacks against federal parliamentarians.
The targets are suspected to be part of a digital operation targeting MPs who declared their support for Bill No. 1904/2024, known as PL Anti-Abortion. The parliamentarians are: Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-DF), Pia Kesis (PL-DF), Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ), and the delegation, Paolo Bielinski (PL-SP).
According to the Political Forum, several parliamentary institutional websites suffered instability and were taken offline due to coordinated attacks. The goal was to overload systems to prevent pages from working, interfere with official communications and influence legislative procedures.
Court orders were complied with in São Paulo (SP) and Curitiba (PR). This measure was supported by foreign authorities, through international legal cooperation, to trace equipment and IP addresses that could have been used in attacks.
Investigators claim that the measure was explained as a form of retaliation for public demonstrations by MPs in favor of the project, which tightens rules around abortion.
The case is being investigated as a cybercrime and may involve the use of automated tools, botnets and foreign servers.
